General Scope of Construction Project:
The WT Admin Facilities & Soldier Family Activity Center located at Fort Bragg consists of the construction of 3 facilities on a 15.32 acre site; a 33,000sf two-story Company Headquarters (COHQ) that houses three Company Headquarters, a 30,100sf two-story Company and Battalion Headquarters (COBNHQ) that houses two Company Headquarters and a Battalion Headquarters and a 15,000sf Soldier and Family Assistance Center.

This project won the 4th Quarter SASINC Safety Award for 2011 and received an Overall Above Average evaluation.

The structures are similar facilities found in the private sector and consist of the following:

  • Company Headquarters and Company Battalion Headquarters
    • Offices for Company and Battalion Commanding Officer and Executive Officer
    • Offices for Battalion Staff and Case Management
    • Offices for support personnel and equipment
    • Restrooms and Mechanical/Electrical equipment rooms
  • Soldier and Family Assistance Center
    • Residential Style
    • Utilized by family support counselors and outreach staff
    • Child activity center with a nourishment center component
    • Public computer access
    • Multi-purpose meeting rooms
    • Restrooms and Mechanical/Electrical equipment rooms
  • Requested Features Provided by Contractor
    • Maximized exterior brick
    • Roof shingles with a 40 year life expectancy
    • Durable doors and frames
    • Upgraded interior finishes
    • Enhanced anti-terrorist force protection
  • Additional Features
    • Designed to complement aesthetic environment of adjacent barracks and historic district

    • Room sizes provide most efficient and flexible building space utilization
    • Offices and leadership areas with exterior walls contain blast resistant windows that maximize natural light

The project is designed to facilitate sustainable design principles and is designed to meet the qualifications for LEED Silver.
